hey guys,
I had a chance to get out last weekend and fish a few different spring creeks in PA and just so happened to run into this guy. I've never seen a brown with colors like this and especially in the winter. Hope you guys enjoy.

Real nice fish!

I have seen them colored up like that from that creek and one other up the road a ways.

Nice.  I don't think I've caught anything but rainbows that far upstream.  Apparently browns do exist there.

thats funny that u say that because i have never seen any rainbows up there. All browns and always bigger in size. I have never pulled a brown out of here that was smaller than this one. I did catch a rainbow that was probably 16" and that is the smallest fish that I have caught from here. these fish get a lot of food and not a lot of pressure. Last year I had a bow come out for my sculpin that probably went close to 27" no lie. One of the biggest fish I have seen in MD period. I believe there are a few browns that are pushing 30" easy.

Right where you're at in the picture, I took about 6 rainbows under 10" one afternoon. Of course, I was fishing midges, not meat flies.  The biggest 'bow I've taken out of that stretch was about 18", again on a very small fly.  The furthest upstream I've caught a brown is just below the next bridge downstream (although that was a pretty nice fish.)

Guess I need to throw a few streamers in there.

Was that a MD or PA stream...is it fair to ask for the state?  Cool looking fish.

It's in the Mid-Atlantic region, if that narrows it down.

Actually, it's listed in the hatch charts in the Mid-Atlantic Fly Fisher (or whatever the name actually is), so it really shouldn't be a big secret.  It is a very small stream, however.

Thanks.  I have only been to two of the local limestoners and i don't recongize that area.  I am sure i will figure it out, there aren't that many of them and they aren't secrets.
